Show notes:
Welcome to episode 2.12 of Your Biz, Your Rules. In this show, I’m announcing something new, exciting, and free to participate in…my fabulous new book club!
I am a BIG reader – I have been for most of my life. I’m the person who always has a book in their handbag and used to hide under the duvet reading instead of going to sleep.
I always like to set myself a reading goal for the year because it gives me that nudge to make sure that I’m actually carving out the time for this thing that I love so much. It can be very easy to not do this, especially when you run your own business which can be all-consuming.
this year I’m aiming to read 100 books which I think is more than I’ve read in a year before. This feels like a good goal and doesn’t feel highly pressurised.
Over the past few years, I’ve really been getting back into reading fiction. When I first started my business I did what I think we all do, and that is immerse ourselves in a lot of personal development, and business-building books.
But for the past couple of years, it’s almost like my soul was rebelling and just diving into fiction. This didn’t stop me from buying non-fiction, I still have shelves and shelves of unread personal development and business-building themed books. And I think this is where my new idea for a book club came from.
About the Book Club
I decided to start this book club, where we’ll commit to reading one non-fiction book a month – I’ll be sharing the first three picks at the end of this episode (see below).
Just to be clear, this is not about consuming more information for the sake of it. Everybody who signs up for my book club will get access to a very specially designed workbook that will really allow them to integrate and implement the things that we read. There’s also space to track and content ideas that might come up too. There is going to be a version of the workbook that is printable and also a version that is in Notion.
How do you join?
It’s really, really simple. It’s available to every single person inside my Friends + Faves Facebook community.
And the way you get access to that community is by buying something from my business.
So if you have purchased something in the past and you would like to have access, message me on Instagram and I will send you the link to get started.
If you haven’t, you can head to my website, and make a purchase from my Everything Page. It doesn’t matter what it is that you purchase, you will be sent a link to join the Facebook Community once your purchase is complete.
