💛 Being visible is about putting yourself at the forefront of your business and building a brand around that. As entrepreneurs, we’re really passionate and we’re driven and we’re full of ideas and we want to share our talents and passions with the world,

“If you don’t have time to read, you don’t have the time (or the tools) to write. Simple as that.”
― Stephen King

There’s this well-exercised piece of writing mythology that the best writers are the best readers – that without a love (or at least an appreciation) of other people’s writing, you’ll never be good at your own.

There has to be some validity to that, right? Because how else would you learn to write other than by studying writers who already do?

So let’s talk time-saving hacks, also known as everything you need to know about creating outstanding digital content FAST.

Did you know that the average business owner spends 11,000 hours a week dilly-dallying about online?

Repurposing content is a pretty hot topic and has been for a while. I think it appeals to all of us who consider ourselves BUSY AF.

There’s a danger though, a temptation to regurgitate the same stuff in different places.

The trick, in my eyes, is to vary up your formats. So instead of writing 4 blog posts on the same topic, you might publish a blog post, a video, a podcast and a couple of Insta images.

Content overwhelm is a very real beast.

It’s like we’re all standing in front of a ball machine, weaving and ducking as we try to escape the must do marketing hacks hurtling our way.

The only thing is, that ball machine will never switch off… and if you don’t take the necessary steps to get out of dodge, you’ll end up covered in bruises and possibly unconscious.

When I first started writing, it was for the pure joy of it.

I wrote a whole series of stories about a Victorian chimney sweep. I wrote pages and pages about a family of monsters. I wrote “poetry” about pink and purple pandas, eating piles and piles of processed peas.

It was this fundamental love of writing that led me to blogging, and by extension, this business. But on the other side of that coin,

A big part of my raison d’etre (or something slightly less pretentious sounding) is showing people they can use digital content to stand out online. And more specifically, I like to share tips and tricks for doing all of the juicy marketing stuff, without investing a whole load of time. You’ll probably know this already if you’ve been here before.

One of the truths I live by – despite what I do for a living –

Micro-content, as you might surmise, is tiny bites of content. This can come in any format (as this article will explore) but they will all have one important thing in common – these little nuggets of knowledge will ALL be easy to digest. No choking or blocked pipes here.

I’m sure you will hear many a marketing guru promise that micro-content is the next big thing because all our readers are too busy/overwhelmed/time poor/lazy to cope with anything that requires a bit of effort.

If you’ve been lurking around these parts for a while, you’ll know how much I love talking about creative content, and the impact it can have on your business – but what does it all actually mean?

Creativity is that special spice mix that makes your content stand out from the (literally ENDLESS) masses.

If you’re working your arse off, churning out regular content but not seeing any tangible results, I can help with this one nugget of truth: Your content is REGULAR.

Content Conquered is a series of mini-posts designed to ignite content ideas and inspire you to get creative online.

Goodreads.com is one of my favourite-ever places to procrastinate online.  Goodreads is a less well-known social platform that is focused around books, and the haunting ground of many an avid reader. It’s a great way to find literary quotes, it’s a great way to track your reading habits, and it’s a great way to find lots and lots of books you want to read.
